Barbara Olivo Cagle has written a true story about her mother, Jacqueline Rose Nunez Olivo, “Rose.” Rose was pregnant 4,500 + days! The story covers over 100 years of California history and the migration of family immigrants from the old countries of Chile, Spain and Italy.

Cagle is the thirteenth of Rose’s sixteen children. She was born and reared in San Jose, California. St Joseph’s School was the foundation for her education through eighth grade. In Notre Dame High School, Cagle went by her nickname, “Bobbie.” She was involved in numerous school activities, played the drums, was a cheerleader, song girl, sewed, and created various forms of artwork. She aspired to acting and performed in the Notre Dame Shakespearean Festival. Rumor has it that she pulled a fire alarm near the end of the festival that created some confusion and concern.
In her senior year, on February 14, 1970, she was involved in a tragic toboggan accident. Bobbie crashed into a huge pine tree and was bedridden for months. The instant before impact, an out-of-body experience flashed before her eyes, and the love of her family and friends left her with a dream to write a story of her mother. During her recovery she collected letters and memorabilia from her family. In her second year of college she met her wonderful Navy husband, Donald J. Cagle. He was attending college in Palo Alto, California. Prior to their marriage, she traveled Europe with two of her sisters for six weeks. Not long after she returned from Europe, Bobbie and Don were married on April 21, 1974. God blessed them with two beautiful children: Jocilyn Roselle in 1975 and Jason John in 1977.
From 1976 to 1979 Bobbie volunteered her time as a cheerleader and Pep Club instructor for the Oslo American School, in Oslo, Norway. She spent time in North Chicago, Illinois; Monterey, California; and Guam, before residing in Spokane, Washington to rear her children. Bobbie enjoyed an extremely successful career in real estate from 1988 to 2002. Since 2002 she has performed in various Mystery Dinner Theatre and Style shows. She has also performed with with the “Tap Grandmas,” "Spring Chicks," and the "Rivercity Cloggers," of Spokane. Presently Bobbie is the founder and clogging instructor of the "Heart Beats" of Deer Lake, Washington. The Heart Beats is a federated club affiliated with the Spokane Area Council and the Square and Folk Dance Federation of Washington.

Barbara, that was a great presentation and I certainly do think that Oprah should see this. The book was an emotional book for me to realize what my mother went through and that her happiness was in having all my brothers and sisters and that she passed that down to us. Thank you again for writing this book.

Oprah should absolutely bring you and Grandma Rose on the show for sure.. The whole family should be there! Our extended family could fill the audience section easily!!!! I loved reading all about Grandmas childhood! Thanks again Auntie!

I really enjoyed "16 X Mom". Since I went to St Joseph's with most of you, it brought back so many memories of your family and San Jose. I can't wait to see you on Oprah!!!
